When possible, we offer boys and girls basketball, cross country, soccer and track for grades 5-8 and a pep squad team for grades 3-8. We also offer boys tennis and girls volleyball for those in middle grades. Practices take place after school. Days and times of games/meets vary. In order to be eligible to play a sport at Heritage Academy, a student must:
-
Complete the sports physical form.
-
Attend a mandatory athlete-parent meeting at the beginning of the season.
-
Maintain acceptable grades and conduct.
-
Be present in school for at least half of a day in order to participate in practices & games.
-
Faithfully attend all practices and games.
-
Respect the integrity and judgment of game officials. Understand that they are doing their best to help promote the student/athlete, and admire the official's willingness to participate in full view of the public.
-
Recognize and show appreciation for an outstanding play by either team.
-
Refrain from the use of any controlled substances (alcohol, drugs, etc.).
- We are a Christian School and want to reflect actions that are a positive witness for Jesus Christ.
-
Use only those cheers that support and encourage the teams involved.
-
Remember that school athletics are learning experiences for students and mistakes are sometimes made. Praise student-athletes in their attempts.
-
Learn the rules of the game, so that you may understand and appreciate the game.
-
A ticket is a privilege to observe the contest, not a license to verbally assault others.
