INTERVENTIONS
Heritage Academy Interventions are varied and suited for different kinds of learners. We have both new students and in-house students who benefit from our intervention suite. We offer Title 1 services for students who need to fill some basic learning gaps in math and reading. BRIDGE is for our new students who otherwise would not be able to join a Heritage Academy everyday classroom based on their entrance testing. This allows us to take a year to on-board students with intensive core language and math instruction for half the day in a small group setting, while allowing them some time to interact with the students who are in the traditional classrooms during specials, lunch and recess. Structures of Intellect, or SOI is a special program that aims to “recalibrate” the way the brain uses cues for learning both math and reading. We use multiple assessments to track data to determine growth and change in the outcomes of our intervention students. We benchmark our entire school three times a year and even more often with our above intervention recipients. This information is communicated with both the parents and the classroom teachers to keep them abreast of the progress these students are making. The goal is to “perform out of BRIDGE” by the end of the first year. Some students may need longer - but typically we are able to meet this goal.
